4) The Israelites faced many perils as they continued on their journey to the Promised Land. When they came to Marah, they could not drink the water because it was bitter. The people grumbled against Moses, saying, "What are we to drink?" How did Moses, with the Lord's help, solve this problem?
He asked the Lord for rain and when it came they were able to drink their fill.
He struck a rock with his staff and sweet water poured forth.
He struck the water with his staff and the bitterness went away.
He threw a piece of wood in the water and it became sweet.
